What it does
ActuallyFreeTools’s video studio lets you drag two handles on a timeline of your video’s frames to keep just the part you want, then save it as a smaller MP4, a looping GIF, the sound only, or a silent copy — free, with no watermark. The video is processed on your own device by ffmpeg, so it is never uploaded.
How to use it
- Drop a video.
- Drag the yellow handles on the timeline (or press Start here / End here while it plays).
- Choose MP4, GIF, sound only or silent video, and save.
Questions people ask
Can I trim without losing quality?
Yes — choose MP4 with Original quality. It cuts without re-encoding, landing on the nearest keyframe.
Is there a length limit?
Only your device’s memory. Long 4K videos are slow in a browser; phones take longer than laptops.
Can I use the keyboard?
Yes. Tab to a handle and use the arrow keys; Shift moves a second at a time.
Is Video studio on ActuallyFreeTools really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no daily limit, no watermark and no paid tier. Nothing is held back for paying users.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Video studio runs inside your browser, so your files are processed on your own device and never sent to a server. That is also why there is nothing to meter or charge for.
