Actually Free Photo Blur & Redaction

Blur, pixelate or black out faces, number plates, names and account numbers in photos and screenshots, free. No upload.

What it does

ActuallyFreeTools hides private details in photos and screenshots for free. Drag boxes over faces, number plates, addresses or account numbers and choose pixelate, blur or a solid black box. The saved copy also drops hidden location data. For text and numbers, pixelate strongly or black out — light blur can sometimes be reversed. Nothing is uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Drop a photo or screenshot.
  2. Drag over each area to hide and choose the style.
  3. Download the redacted copy.

Questions people ask

Which style is safest?

A black box is irreversible. Strong pixelation is also very safe; light blur on text is the least safe.

Does it change my original file?

No. You download a new copy; the original stays as it was.

Can it find faces automatically?

Not yet — you mark areas yourself, which is also more reliable for screenshots.

Is Blur & redact photos on ActuallyFreeTools really free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no daily limit, no watermark and no paid tier. Nothing is held back for paying users.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Blur & redact photos runs inside your browser, so your files are processed on your own device and never sent to a server. That is also why there is nothing to meter or charge for.
