Actually Free Background Remover

Remove image backgrounds free at full resolution with AI that runs on your device. Transparent PNG or white background. No upload, no credits.

What it does

ActuallyFreeTools removes the background from photos of people, products and pets for free and at full resolution, using an AI model that runs on your own device — no upload, no credits, no sign-up. Download a transparent PNG, or put the subject on white or any colour for product listings and profile pictures. The model downloads once.

How to use it

  1. Drop one or more photos.
  2. Choose Fast or Best, and a transparent, white or coloured background.
  3. Remove the background and download.

Questions people ask

Why is the first run slow?

The AI model (tens of MB) downloads once and is cached. Later images are processed much faster.

Is the full-resolution result really free?

Yes. Most sites charge for full resolution; here the work happens on your device, so there is nothing to charge for.

What photos work best?

A clear subject that stands out from the background. Fine hair and glass are hardest for any remover.

Is Background remover on ActuallyFreeTools really free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no daily limit, no watermark and no paid tier. Nothing is held back for paying users.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. Background remover runs inside your browser, so your files are processed on your own device and never sent to a server. That is also why there is nothing to meter or charge for.
